8 Countries - One Strong Brand - AVE
A comprehensive strategy of internationalization starting with
the core market Austria, in which AVE is now the clear number
1, was introduced in 2004 and has been implemented
successfully. Approximately 8 million poeple in Austria, the
Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, South Tyrol,
Ukraine and Moldavia dispose of their waste in containers
bearing AVE's red/white/red logo.
In recent years AVE has developed close partnerships in these
countries with over 5,500 municipal authorities and waste
management associations. Whole regions, such as Upper Austria,
Salzburg, Burgenland (all in Austria), Heves,
Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Somogy, (Hungary), Harghita (Romania),
Košice (Slovakia), Transcarpathia (Ukraine), plus countless
cities, such as Prague, Brünn, Pilsen, Usti nad Labem, Kolin,
Ostrau (all in the Czech Republic), Tatabánya, Miskolc, Siófok,
Kaposvár, Debrecen (all in Hungary), Zalau, Cluj, Oradea (all
in Romania) are currently involved in long-term, contractually
secured partnerships with AVE. These strategic cooperation
models (referred to as PPP models) between AVE and municipal
waste managements have become one of the supporting pillars
within the AVE Group and create a situation of long-term
security for waste disposal coupled at the same time with
steady prices for households. AVE has also established itself
as a reliable partner in the creation of waste management
capacities. Construction of new landfill sites, investments in
reprocessing and recovery plants, setting up of collection
systems, innovative recycling and recovery technologies and a
state of the art vehicle pool testify the whole Group's clear
environmental orientation.
In the meantime, in addition to municipal customers,
approximately 85,000 commercial and industrial customers make
use of AVE's know-how and the comprehensive range of services
it offers. In this sector too, AVE positions itself as a
long-term partner of corporate facility management. AVE's menu
includes everything from innovative holistic solutions to what
are referred to as total waste management models, including
outsourcing of the whole of waste management process. As a

Collection, Logistics, Reprocessing, Recovery and
Disposal - A One-Stop Shop
AVE is the only fully integrated waste management company in
Austria. This unique position as a full-range supplier is the
basis for successful work with customers and the environment.
AVE offers the entire range of services relating to the waste
and recyclable waste market covering collection, logistics,
reprocessing, recovery and disposal. The AVE Group's facility
network at home and abroad creates the basis for this and
facilitates waste treatment at the highest technical and
environmental level. The thermal recovery plants in Austria
(Wels and Lenzing with a total capacity of 600,000 tons per
year) and the Czech Republic (Pardubice) in addition to 28
landfill sites, which meet strict EU standards, form the core
of the facility network. Over 35 state of the art splitting and
sorting plants in the countries covered by AVE ensure
professional reprocessing of the waste and are the basic
requirement for efficient cross-national management of material
flows.

also bear the title "Certified specialist waste management

SAP® Waste and Recycling, the IT industry solution specially
developed for the waste management industry, was introduced
successfully in 2007 to standardize the IT landscape and to
support the international growth strategy. The next project
phases will include the introduction of an integrated on-board
computer solution and its implementation in all countries stage
by stage.
